Trevor's First Dog!

Trevor decided to venture out from drawing people and decided to draw a dog yesterday. I was quite surprised how well it turned out! As you can see, he was very proud!
The weather here has been yucky but we made it outside for a while today before it started raining. Trevor decided to run around the trampoline instead of jumping because he said his legs were SOOO tired!

We Are Back!

We had a good little mini vacation to Greenville for the Firefighter Combat Challenge. It was a bit of a way to drive for one evening and one day of staying, but it was worth it.
Here are some pics of Trevor doing the Kid's Challenge.

Waiting his turn...
Adjusting his helmet after crawling through the tunnel.

Hitting the sled...

Pulling the hose...

And on the way home he napped! We didn't get enough sleep. We woke up early, like hotel stays usually go, we were out in the heat for the majority of the time there and he was DONE by the time we got in the car on the way home.

I wish we could go to more because it was nice to watch Steve compete. He placed 15th out of 61 people so he did pretty well.

What A Week...

Sorry I don't have a pic up for the past couple days. We have been busy! Tuesday Trevor and I were at the mall then later that afternoon, we went to Walmart. Today he had swim lessons then we came home and I had some cleaning to do.
I probably won't be on the rest of the week but I will have some pics to share on Sunday for sure. :)

My Little Swimmer

Today marked a memorable step for Trevor. It was his first day of swimming lessons!!
He had a really good time and he did very well! I will not be taking any pics during the class so I don't distract anybody.
After class we decided to stay and swim for a half hour, which ended up turning into an hour :)
Something magical happened during that first class though...something changed. Before when we would go to the pool, Trevor would freak if we let go of him, even with his life jacket on. But after class, we put a life jacket on and VIOLA! he wanted to swim by himself with nobody holding him. He marched right out into that pool and showed it who was boss! He even decided to go swim in the part of the pool where his feet can't touch bottom. At one point he even told me, "Mom I don't need you to swim with me. You go over there and I will stay over here and we can swim by ourselves."
Did I mention that all they did today was superman swim across the pool with a noodle and again with a kick board while making big splashes?! So I have no idea where his new found bravery came from.
I am thinking these lessons are going to do wonders for his confidence and our sanity :)
Here he is finally taking a break so I could get a good picture of him...
Great Work Trevor! You did awesome dude!

Happy Father's Day

Trevor and I took Steve to a Stampede Express indoor league football game on Saturday night for Father's Day. It was our first game and we all really enjoyed it! Here are the boys at the beginning of the game.
Today we went to church then mostly just hung out at home. We played in the backyard in the sprinkler and the boys played on the trampoline. Trevor wanted to fight!!

I made Steve a nice father's day dinner that consisted of rib eye steak, potatoes and corn on the cob all grilled to perfection! YUM!!! Trevor and I also made Steve a stainless steel commuter coffee mug with a bunch of pictures of him and Trevor. I tried to take a picture of it but it just wouldn't come out right.

Early Father's Day

Today while we were at the store Trevor asked me to buy stuff to make cupcakes. I told him okay as long as they could be for daddy for father's day. I think he would have agreed to just about anything to get me to make them.
Here he is enjoying one...

Me and the Moon

I made Trevor stay inside today since it was hot and I wanted his sunburn to have some more time to heal. But this evening he went to Wednesday night activities at the church and after Steve went to bed we went out to play on the trampoline. He wanted me to take a picture of quote "me and my buddy the moon".
*If you click the picture you might be able to see the moon a little better.

Hula Hoop

Trevor was going crazy trying to hula hoop tonight. We were watching "Ni Hao Kai Lan" and it was about "keep trying". So when he would mess up he would tell me, "Mom, say keep trying Trevor"...he did okay a couple times but he doesn't quite get the hip movement right to keep it going.

Lake Day

Today we went out on the lake with one of Steve's friends from work and his little boy. It was a good day to be out but the wind made the water a little more choppy than I would have liked. When we were anchored I started to get sea sick bobbing around. After driving around for a while, the guys decided they wanted to get the tube out.
Trevor waiting his turn to go on the tube...
And here he is on the tube with daddy. I was REALLY surprised that he lasted as long as he did and he said he liked it, but only for a while.

Lily Ponds and Photos

Today Trevor and I ventured out to the Lily Ponds and the Visitor Center to take some pictures that are worthy of being hung on the walls of the grandparents.
Here are a couple of the pics that I took of the "beautiful flowers" as Trevor called them. He wanted to stay there all day and explore around the gardens. :)

This is one of the random pics I took. He was so not paying attention to me but was paying attention to everything else. I might have to take him somewhere that doesn't capture his attention so much.

Feeling Like the Paparazzi

Tonight I was playing around with adjusting the settings on my camera and taking random pics of Trevor while he was playing on the computer.
At one point he shot me this look....

I translated it into, "Okay mom, this is the last picture, now stop torturing me and just let me play!" It was the last one I took and I am sure he appreciated playing in peace without feeling like the paparazzi was following him.

Home Run

Today while playing the Wii Sports home run derby, Trevor was doing some kind of weird home run stance. He will stand like this until he knows where the ball is going. I caught the evidence on camera.

My Little Jumper

Sorry it has been a couple days. I tried to post these yesterday but Blogger wasn't working when I got online.
Here is a picture of out family drawn by Trevor. It goes Mommy, Daddy, and Trevor. I thanked him for making me smaller than daddy! :)
We are still not feeling so great but a friend that is moving sold us a trampoline, which I am going to buy a net for, so we put it up on Sunday and Trevor couldn't wait to jump on it.

It was SOOOO hot, like 103 I think, so after just a short while, I ended up putting the sprinkler up next to it for Trevor to cool off and he thought that was totally awesome. He kept yelling, "Okay now spray me!" every time the sprinkler started moving back toward him.We are all getting better day by day, thank God. We need to get back to the pool, it is too hot out to do much more, other than the sprinkler.

Sickness and Pools

I took Trevor to the doctor this morning and she said she is pretty sure it is just a virus but if he starts to run a fever again or isn't better by this time next week, then she will prescribe antibiotics. She also prescribed a nebulizer to help open his airways. She says he has reactive airway disease...pretty much that when he is sick his airway doesn't function well.
We decided to go ahead and hit the pool for the last time until next week even though we were all feeling under the weather. Here are a couple pics...

This weekend will entail Lysol coating the house and resting I hope. Trevor and I might venture to the mall tomorrow if both of us are up for it. Steve will be on staff duty until 8pm. Here's to hoping we all feel better and that none of you out there are sick too.

Pool Day

So I went against my better judgement about keeping him home and I took Trevor to the pool today despite the fact that he is sick. I figured just in case we can't go for a while, we got one good day in at the pool. I am willing to accept the Worst Mom of the Year award if he wakes up even more sick in the morning, I will feel awful. I will be calling to take him to the doctor tomorrow to see if this is more than a cold. I let him have 2 Popsicles before bed to make his throat feel better, I am sure it is sore after all the coughing. He LOVES the Dora Slow-Melts...I do too!
And Mommy got a little too much sun at the pool today-Oops!
And sorry about the no make-up look. I didn't wear any all day since we were at the pool, and it kind of felt good. I am hoping that I will soon have a good enough tan that I really won't need much other than mascara.

I will let you all know that the Doc says about Trevor...poor little guy sounds nasty.

Sunset

Trevor has been loving these spring sunsets. He will notice that the light in the house changes and makes me take him outside to watch the sunset.
Tonight's was quite beautiful over the houses across the street...
Here he is, in all his cheesiness, on what we like to call the sitting rock, aptly named because it has a nice little seat perfect for Trevor's little butt to fit on.

Hopefully we make it to the pool tomorrow...keeping my fingers crossed that it will not be raining when it is time for Steve to go to work.

Baseball Champion

Trevor decided to play the Wii while I was making dinner tonight. He was super excited because he won 2 gold medals playing baseball!!
