Downtime

I haven't been so great at posting pics lately so here is one from Friday night...
And today I took a break from the house projects. I wanted a free day to do whatever we wanted. So just after noon we took Trevor to the pool on base. He decided to be brave and just jumped right in as soon as we got his life jacket on...that didn't go over so well and I think kind of scared him for the majority of the time left. I don't know what he was thinking. Here he is after he kind of got over that.

And at one point the lifeguards made everyone get out of the pool. It turned out the the chemical levels were off. We were about to go anyways so we just chilled out and tried to get a little dry before we left. Trevor needed some shades, so he borrowed mine.

Then after we got home, a good old fashioned squirt gun fight between the boys went down in the backyard! Trevor was much better this time and didn't get all whiny about getting squirted in the.according to him, wrong places. Tomorrow is back to the grindstone for us. Steve will be back to work and I have some cupboards that need to be worked on. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oceans

Today was a busy day. We went to church, I went to Lowe's to return paint, Home Depot to get new paint, and then came home to paint. I painted for a couple hours, then took Trevor to watch DisneyNature Oceans on base. I told Steve I have never heard the word awesome used so many times in 84 minutes!! Needless to say, Trevor LOVED the movie. He thought this part was so sweet when the mommy walrus kept cuddling her baby.
I didn't get any pics today because we were so busy. It sure is hard to do projects and remember everything else too! Trevor asked me a couple times today for food and a different show to watch :)

Shower Time

Trevor likes to take showers and he wanted to see what he looked like in the shower, so I agreed to take his picture but told him it could only be of his face because pictures of other things are not okay.
I am kind of cheating because this picture was actually taken the other day. But today I was busy working on house stuff and didn't think about taking pics until right before bedtime. I didn't feel like uploading and editing tonight.

GameTime

Today Trevor and I ventured out to find some home improvement stuff...we have some projects to do this weekend.
Trevor's latest obsession is playing games on www.Nickjr.com and www.playhousedisney.com

He has a blast and they are educational, so I am all for it. Yes we used moderation, he isn't on for hours a day. But it is good for him to learn how to use the computer and what the games teach him.

New Camera...Finally!

I got my new camera today and it is going to take me a while to figure out the best settings to take pics but I will get it sooner or later. For now I am using the iAUTO feature that chooses the setting for me based on what I am shooting. I just realized that I should probably start exporting my pics from Picasa at full pixel instead of like 50 percent...they would look a lot better, I am sure.
We dropped Trevor off at church again tonight since he wanted to go. After we got daddy in bed, he wanted to watch the sunset so we sat outside for a while...it was taking too long and the bugs were getting us so we couldn't stay out. But he was happy to just sit out there for a while since it was cooling off.

The pool opens Friday so I hope to take Trevor and get some pics...it is also the last day of school so hopefully it isn't packed!

"I Am IronMan"

This evening we watched most of Avatar, we will have to finish it tomorrow. Then Trevor wanted to play with his "super awesome" IronMan toys. So we spent a good hour flying them around the house and making them crash so their arms and legs fell off....my kid is kind of cruel. He has the IronMan voice down pretty good.

Soaked!

Yesterday I bought some Super Soakers for the boys and they tried them out today. It didn't last long with Steve and Trevor, so I took Trevor's spot and soaked Steve for a while. It was HOT out so it felt sooo good!

A Chill Night

Tonight was the season finale of Bones and Trevor laid on the couch like a sweet little boy and let me watch.
We also watched Shrek 2. He really liked it so I told him I will borrow or rent the 1st and 3rd too. Then we can watch the 4th in the theater when it comes to base.

HOT!!

It has been hot here lately and we are itching for the pool to open but until there there are popsicles to keep Trevor cool. He was checking out out lily plant, rockin' his Diego shades when I realized I needed a pic for the day. You will have to excuse all the grass growing in the rocks. Steve will be taking care of that by the weekend, won't you honey??
This evening we took Trevor to Wednesday night activities at the church and we had a day late anniversary dinner at Outback. We all had a good time. :)

Busy Day

Trevor was playing football with Steve today and after just a few times he walked up to the patio looking like this and said, "Mommy...my energy is all used up!" We did have kind of a long on the go kind of day. And it was yucky hot out.
While we were out today we got Trevor signed up for swim lessons and got family passes to the pool. We plan on using them every chance we get. I want to take Trevor at least 2 weekdays and once on the weekends. It only cost $55 for the whole swim season and that gets us into 3 base operated pools. It should be a good summer!

Sleepy

Trevor decided to sleep in this morning so I crept into his room to take a picture of him while he was still sweet. :)

Getting Ready for Church

Sad news on the home front. We ended up having to give the dog back today. I woke up this morning having a hard time breathing, badly congested, with swollen, itchy eyes. Apparently my body can't handle any more allergens that those that are already flying around Texas.
I hate that we had to give her back. She was a really sweet and smart dog and would have been a good part of our family but I just couldn't do it if it meant I had to suffer everyday.

Enough with the sadness. Trevor took this of daddy....

Mommy was putting makeup on so thankfully no one took any pictures of me :)

Whew....What a Day!

Today was crazy! It was Goodfellow Appreciation Day, so we headed out to the recreation camp despite the threat of bad weather and Trevor had quite a good time.
He bounced in a SpiderMan and a SpongeBob bouncy house...
He got to ride a horse....

And he got his first ever cotton candy! (I think he was less than thrilled that I made him take that picture!)

Also.....ready for this? We got a dog. He name is Keela and she is a full blood german shepherd. We are doing a trial run to make sure she fits into our family okay and that her and Trevor will get along. I am pretty sure we are going to keep her.

So as you can imagine, Trevor was exhausted when bedtime rolled around. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more relaxed.

The Muffin Man

Just as I figured, Trevor asked for a muffin this morning while watching SpongeBob. He tried talking me into letting him have another but I had to deny him.
This afternoon Steve and Trevor were playing outside and Trevor wanted to try to see the neighbor's dogs. They have these bushes with beautiful pink flowers on them so I made the boys pose for me.

Muffins

Trevor helped me make some muffins this evening but I couldn't really take pictures because my hands were covered in batter.
I will take a pic of him eating one tomorrow :)

Cooookie!

Trevor was being a real ham today while I was taking my daily pic. I think he was just happy about the cookie :)

Let's Play, Dad!

Today was a long rough one, but this afternoon/evening Trevor was ready to play! Thankfully Steve took care of the playing that involved running around in the heat! The boys played football, volleyball and soccer in the backyard.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! We had a pretty relaxing day. Went to church, got lunch from Sonic, per Trevor's request, then came home for a few hours before going on base to watch "How To Train Your Dragon". The movie was really good. I can't imagine what it would have been like in 3D.



Here is my Mother's Day gift. I actually got it already but have to return it. I am sure that if you are reading this you already know why from my FaceBook.

Parent's Night Out

Out church had Parents Night Out tonight so we dropped Trevor off for some activities and we went to a movie. When I picked him up he had a little bag full of stuff for me. Some of it was the lesson that they are teaching this month and some of it was Mother's day stuff. He had a great time and I am going to try to remember to take him for Wednesday activities and dinner for $1.

Games

Tonight before Trevor went to bed he asked to play CandyLand and of course I said yes...who doesn't like CandyLand? I beat him, then he asked to play Chutes and Ladders. He beat me but I love when he wins!

Football

Hopefully after today I will get back to doing a pic a day. Today was pretty messed up. If you read my Facebook status, you know what I mean. This pic was taken on Monday.

On other news...it was 96 here today and the forecast for tomorrow is 102...whew. I am wondering why the pool isn't open yet.

Play Time with Papa

Sorry I have been gone so long. We were so busy with Papa here. Then I had over a hundred pictures to sort through and edit and I am still not done!
Here are some more pics from the visit. There should be enough to make up for the days I missed! :)

We went to the Abilene Zoo and had a great time!
As you can see from my crazy hair, and the expression on my dad's face, it was REALLY windy!

Trevor is such a ham!

We also visited a park here in town and Trevor was intrigued by these cement blocks for some reason.

We spent an afternoon in the backyard and Trevor stole Steve's lounge chair to suntan!

We got the sprinkler out because it was really hot. Trevor even talked Papa into running through with him :)

We went mini golfing and Trevor cracked us all up pretty much the entire time.

Then we had one last day to play with Papa...and of course Trevor wanted to play guns!

We had a really great visit and I am so glad that my dad got to come down for the week.
