We got some snow last week that was just enough to use the new sled. It was sooo cold out that we didn't stay out for long but it was long enough to have fun!

It was a lot of fun and while I don't like to hope for snow, it would be nice to be able to do this with Steve on a weekend.It's been waaayyyy too long since I posted. Since Trevor's birthday, we have actually been pretty busy. The week before Thanksgiving, Steve's mom, dad and brother all come down for a visit since Al was back in the states. I made a big Thanksgiving dinner since we were all together (and Steve had all day and overnight duty on Thanksgiving). We had a good visit with them.
Then we planned a week long trip to TX for the week before Christmas. The night before we left, we had Steve's battalion Christmas party. Trevor had tons of fun playing in the bounce house and talking with Santa. (We also won a PS3 in the raffle!)
The next day, we headed down to Texas! It was a long drive. We all had a really good time but it seemed to go by too fast. Trevor and I both loved being back in TX with our mom and son besties, but he had fun with all 4 kids. The guys spent a lot of time going to the gym...go figure :)We got home the night of Dec 23rd. We spent the next day trying to recover from the long drive, then attended a Christmas eve service. When that was over we drove through our neighborhood looking at the lights and came home to a pizza dinner.
We woke up Christmas morning and did the usual presents and breakfast. Here's Trevor sitting in front of the tree with all his loot!
He was pretty excited about his new sled that he asked Santa for at the previously mentioned party!
And he got a special present for doing so well on the trip. He had been asking for a shooting game for Christmas and instead of another war game, I figured I would get him a hunting game.
All in all, we had a great Christmas. For New Year's Eve we stayed home and had finger foods, played games and watched a TV movie special. Trevor was determined to stay up until midnight but around 10:30, he just went to the bathroom and puked out of nowhere, without telling us he wasn't feeling well. He made it until 11:30 and decided to just go to bed. He woke up brand new and felt fine, thank God. Both Steve and I have not felt so great for a few hours since as well, so I think a little bug got us...glad it wasn't a big one!

Okay, yeah it's been like 3 months since I posted on here. But it was a momentous occasion on Tuesday...Trevor turned 5!
On Friday we went to the zoo in Springfield. We had a good time and it totally wore Trevor out!

Trevor made me take a pic of this "vampire deer" as h called it...he said, "Just in time for Halloween, mom!" I have no idea if that is really it's tooth or a piece of food.

Birthday morning started out with Chocolate Chip Pancakes!!
Then we met up with Steve for lunch at the bowling alley. The rain held out so instead of bowling, I took Trevor to the park until Steve got off work. He LOVES these squirrels and wanted me to take a pic of his little buddy :)

He really made a haul this year with his presents, including this nice crisp $50 bill! This is really the only decent pic I got of him opening presents.
I made homemade mac and cheese for dinner upon Trevor's request. And he decided he wanted a donut for his birthday dessert. Here he is about to devour it!
All in all, Trevor had a great birthday weekend. We had a little party on Saturday for him...but I really didn't get any good pics from it....but I am here with some pictures from the past couple weeks.
It has been HOT HOT HOT here...it is so humid that you can see the "fog"in the air pretty much all day long so even when it is cloudy it is still hot enough to play in the pool!
The fair was in town last weekend so of course we took Trevor since he is big enough for the rides. His first roller coaster ride...and he LOVED it!
Hopefully this coming weekend will prove to be a good picture taking weekend. We have some stuff planned to celebrate the 4th of July, so it should be fun...as long as the weather holds out.I told Steve that I did not want anything for Mother's day other than a night out to dinner so I didn't have to cook. So we went to Ruby Tuesday on Saturday night and dinner was awesome!
Sunday morning the boys gave me cards...both were cute. Trevor insisted that the card Steve got me was "inappropriate for kids to see," to quote him.
We went to church, got some lunch at the food court in the PX, and came home to relax. I watched a movie while the boys played video games for a while. Then we decided to get out and enjoy some sunshine while we had it, so we went down to the stream below our house. This time Trevor got in and had some fun!

We had a lot of fun and it was a really good Mother's Day!The weather was finally nice enough today for us to get out of the house. Even though everything is super wet and soggy from DAYS of rain, we decided to take a nature walk in these woods that are right behind our house.
In some of the ponds that have been made by all the rain, we saw a ton of tadpoles. Trevor thought it was so cool because we had just read about tadpoles. He wants to go back when they are supposed to be frogs, so I told him I would figure out how long that would be so we can go see if we can find frogs. Being the Fernwood girl I am, I caught one so he could get an up close look at one. As soon as I put it back in the water, the big momma frog came up and poker her head out of the water at me...I am pretty sure she was swearing at me for touching her baby.
Trevor wanted to go find the deer so he could wrestle it and bring it home to eat :) This is his tough guy look.
We had to change our clothes as soon as we got home because there was a lot of poison ivy growing out there...and we found a tick on Steve's leg. I caught him in a paper towel and threw him outside, and immediately took a shower, but I am now all paranoid about there being one in my hair.I hope everyone had a VERY Happy Easter! We had a good one! We started the day off with a couple gifts for Trevor, and that included Alphie. He has been asking for Alphie for what seems like forever! So I finally broke down and bought him.
Then we braved the soggy yard and the rain for an Easter Egg hunt in the yard. After that it was time for church. We came home and while I prepared stuff for dinner and dessert, Steve and Trevor spend hours in the basement playing video games. I got some good reading and girl movie time!
We haven't really done anything fun lately. It has been raining and stormy for the past week and it is supposed to stay that way until Thursday...ugh. Steve has a 4 day pass for next weekend so hopefully we can do something fun!
